Since the hardening tendency of Low alloy high tensile structural steel round bar is slightly greater than that of low carbon steel, preheating measures should be taken to prevent cold cracks when welding at low temperature (such as winter open-air operation) or on structures with large rigidity and thickness.

Due to the loose, porous and cracked structure of the oxide sheet on the surface of carbon structural steel or low alloy Round Steel, and the repeated bending of the oxide sheet along with the steel during pickling through straightening, tension straightening and transmission, these pore cracks are further increased and expanded. Therefore, the acid solution can react with the iron of Low alloy high tensile structural steel round bar matrix through cracks and pores while reacting with the oxide sheet. In other words, at the beginning of pickling, all three oxides and metal iron react with the acid solution simultaneously.

Low alloy high tensile structural steel round bar (Q355 16Mn S355JR S355B Grade 50S SPFC590) belongs to carbon manganese steel, the content of carbon is about 0.16%, the yield point is equal to 343MPa (strength grade belongs to 343MPa grade). Low alloy high tensile structural steel round bar has less alloy content and good weldability. It is generally not necessary to preheat before welding.
